Queer Public Radio is associated with a larger group of ‘sister-websites,’ offering additional resources and options to some of our services.

Our network of ‘sister-websites’ include:

  • Queer Public Radio has also developed a system called Social Plus which promotes shows and podcasts on multiple social networking sites 75 times per broadcast.

QPRs’ advertising server allows us to place your advertising graphics on our network of ‘sister-websites’ and provide advertisers with reports.

Due to the number of options and variables involved, pricing will be quoted on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to contact Tom click here.

Here are a couple pricing samples:

    1 Hour Weekly Podcasting
Joe has a pre-recorded 1 hour show which airs once a week.
Joe creates his own sound file each week and sends it to an ftp site (provided by QPR) around 24 hours prior to showtime. Joe uses a freely available ftp client (we use FileZilla).
After Joe is done sending the file they notify QPR (usually by email).
QPR acquires the file, checks it and places it in Queue for broadcast.
After the show has aired it is made available as a podcast on QueerPublicRadio.com and iTunes (QPR).
Queer Public Radio also cross promotes the podcast page on various social networks.
Joe also has our marketing service.
He provided his own graphical media for the advertising campaigns (which saved him from having to pay a setup fee).
Joe chose to receive a weekly report which shows the marketing impressions and click throughs.
Joe has the option of splitting the time into two 30 minute shows for an additional $5 per/month.

    2 hour Weekly Podcasting
Jane has a pre-recorded 2 hour show which airs once a week. Jane creates her own sound file each week and sends it to an ftp site (provided by QPR) around 24 hours prior to showtime. Jane uses a freely available ftp client (we use FileZilla).
After Jane is done sending the file they notify QPR (usually by email).
QPR acquires the file, checks it and places it in Queue for broadcast.
After the show has aired it is made available as a podcast on QueerPublicRadio.com and iTunes (QPR).
QPR promotes the podcast page on various social networks.
Jane also has our marketing service. She did not provide her own graphical media for the advertising campaigns. She paid a $10 setup fee for creation of her advertising graphic. She will also pay for any future advertising graphic changes made by QPR.
Jane chose to receive a marketing report every three days which shows the marketing impressions and click-throughs.
Jane has the option of splitting the time into two 60 minute shows for an additional $10 per/month.

    Custom Pre-Recording
Paul isn’t very technically inclined and prefers to use the telephone. He has decided on a 1 hour weekly show.
At a designated time Tom and Paul connect by phone. If Paul desires he can invite others to the call, creating a conference call. Callers can connect by phone or skype.
Tom records the show, processes the audio clip and puts it in queue for broadcasting. After the show airs the podcast is made available on QPR and iTunes.
QPR promptes the podcast on various social networks.
A one hour show usually takes more than one hour to record. The goal is to ‘do the show in one take’ or at least as few ‘cuts’ as possible.
For this reason we must allocate a total time limit for show creation before additional charges occur. A one hour production is expected to take no more than a total (recording time + post-recording editing time) of an hour and a half. Additional time will incur additional charges.
This plan also includes “all the bells and whistles”, such as marketing, Social Plus Promotion and more.

    Live Weekly Talk Show
    *Coming Soon*
Sally connects to QPR using her computer, with a headset (the most popular method is Skype but others are available). This also allows Sally and Tom (producer/engineer) to communicate ‘off the air’ (in a private text chat). The Host could be on a telephone, if they preferred.
Tom records the live session and afterwards, converts it to a podcast and makes it available on QueerPublicRadio.com and iTunes (QPR).

Sally has ‘all the bells and whistles’. She receives the 75 shouts per show through our Social Plus program. Her listeners can opt-in to show email reminders (sent 1 hour before showtime). And of course Sally uses our in-house network marketing system. Sally receives daily email marketing reports (at her request).

Sally occasionally request editing which is done at an additional hourly rate, and delays podcast availability.
    *note: Call Screening coming soon

    COST: ? p/month

Gay Talk Radio and Queer Public Radio are NOT licensed for commercial music broadcasting. All broadcasts are welcome to include music as long as the music is from an indie (independent) musician who:

    • is not signed or participating in a royalty collecting system (SoundExchange, ASCAP, etc.)
    • owns the copyright for the song (or has permission from copyright owner)

Hosts are responsible for the content of their shows

    footnotes:

*1 – The Incoming Call feature currently does not have ability to screen calls. When the ‘phone rings’ it must be answered before ‘rolling over’ to voicemail. The caller will be immediately ‘live on the air’ with a 2 second delay. Note: We anticipate obtaining call screening functionality in the near future.

*2 – We do not spam people and will not tolerate any abuse of the system.

*3 – It is up to the show host to notify Queer Public Radio of any changes. Inaccuracies in promotional and/or advertising materials are not appreciated or acceptable. We pride ourselves on our honest and open approach. Inaccuracies negatively affect our reputation.

*4 – All podcast are freely available for about 30 days. Afterwards, QPR Premium Membership is required. Show hosts can remove this restriction for an additional fee.

Queer Public Radio is a unique vehicle reaching an upwardly mobile niche market unlike any other internet broadcast station.
